Sick as a dog

02-26-2008

I’ve often wondered where that expression came from. But anyway, that is pretty much what’s going on with me for the past 5 days – SICK. In fact, I don’t recall ever feeling so sick, ever. I’ve never sported a 104 degree fever for more than one day, but this time, this fever simply refuses to break. I must have taken a good 30 extra strength Tylenols in the last 5 days, plus another 10 or so Advils in between. Every time I stopped taking the pills my temperature would spike back up.

Needless to say, I’ve been bedridden and have gotten absolutely nothing done in the last few days. Client sessions had to be postponed. I know a few people are waiting for a sneak preview on this blog as well, so I do apologize for the longer-than-expected wait as well.

I will get the ball rolling again as soon as I can. Thank you all for your patience.

38 weeks!

02-06-2008

What a morning to come in for a session – certainly not lacking in snow, that’s for sure. Though I had to reschedule my afternoon session due to the bad weather (I don’t want my clients risking their lives to have their portraits made, after all!), this mom really didn’t have much of a choice as it was pretty much now or never.

She really does have the “pregnancy glow,” don’t you think? And her sidekick and son aren’t too shabby either! Such a beautiful family.

Earlier last week I posted the beautiful mom who is expecting twins. Today, I photographed another mom who came to me for portraits of her 10 days old twins – one girl and one boy! They were angelic and cherubic! They only woke up to eat, and as soon as they were fed, they both went right back to sleep. Both babies were as content as can be, and did not mind the fact that I was moving them here and there, all in the name of making their newborn portraits. Thank you so much for coming in so soon after your twins were born, mom and dad! You’re both troopers!

I hope mom and dad will agree with me that hauling all the gear to my studio while in a somewhat zombie-like state due to lack of sleep was worth it! See for yourself…

Heads up!

02-03-2008

Lots of ideas are brewing in my head to make 2008 an even more exciting year.

For one, there will definitely be both a Mother’s Day Special and a Father’s Day Special. These two sessions will be held over the course of two days, and will be mini sessions (25 minutes each). The session fee will include some really good goodies I promise! More details to come, so stay tuned – I assure you, these sessions will book up fast.

Another special that will be forthcoming is a limited edition session – I don’t want to divulge too much at this point so please check back regularly! You will not be sorry.

Finally, I will also be offering one-on-one workshops for all of you moms and dads out there who would like to learn how to use your cameras (admit it – you’ve bought this fantastic DSLR but haven’t had the patience to read through the manual so you haven’t been able to take advantage of all its capabilities!), and more importantly, how to take better pictures of your kids. These workshops will be two hours long, and will include lunch. Even better, these workshops are child-friendly so you can bring your little one along if you can’t find babysitting – I will have babysitting lined up for you. Details on pricing and availability will be posted here and also on my website soon.

I can’t wait!

Lucky Baby K

She’s all set. Her parents will not have to worry too much as baby K has two big brothers who will no doubt be very protective of her. The only thing is mom will have to get used to the idea that she may have to relegate her throne – alas, a princess has been born!

And finally, here is one of my favourites of baby K’s two big brothers:
